The Almost Grown-Ups
Swifton First’s Almost Grown-Ups ministry is designed for young adults ages 21–40 who are navigating careers, relationships, “adulting,” and deeper faith journeys, offering real community without the pressure of being fully “grown up” yet.
The purpose is to build one another up in Christ, creating a welcoming space where young adults can laugh together, support each other through life’s messiness, and grow closer to Jesus without any pretense. The mission focuses on fostering authentic encouragement and spiritual growth through quarterly gatherings that blend fun, fellowship, and meaningful connections in Christ, helping everyone feel seen, valued, and directed toward Him. The vision is for God to expand this into a thriving, consistent community where members stay connected amid life’s transitions, actively encourage and disciple one another, and become stronger believers who positively impact their workplaces, families, and social circles for Christ.
Growth happens through intentional community: sharing stories, praying together, discussing Scripture in relatable ways, serving side-by-side when possible, and embracing vulnerability and encouragement all rooted in Christ’s love. Activities center on low-pressure, high-impact quarterly meetups featuring games, meals, outings, worship, teaching, small-group discussions, and prayer.
Kendal Felton leads Swifton First’s Almost Grown-Ups, guiding these gatherings to nurture genuine faith and friendships.
