Shine Youth Group at Swifton First is for students 5th grade and up, creating a vibrant space where young people are discipled, empowered to disciple others, and equipped to lean into Christ through every stage of life.

The purpose is straightforward: to disciple youth and ignite a passion for reaching more souls for God, fostering genuine spiritual growth and outreach. The mission focuses on building maturity in faith while sharing the hope of Jesus with others. The vision is for Shine to become a place where students develop deep, unwavering faith that stands firm even when they’re away from the group—where lives are truly changed, and the room fills naturally because current students are so full of Jesus that others are drawn to know Him more.

Shine helps students grow through intentional practices like choosing a “Word of the Year” and praying for five people to come to Christ, times of worship (shifting soon to live worship), messages, altar time, prayer, service opportunities, and monthly purposeful activities alternating with fun, church-centered events. Weekly services provide consistent community, and past outreach efforts—like serving events, baking goods with invitations, and community care—show the heart for sharing faith practically.
